Apparel Manufacturing in China

There is a reason why almost everything we use today has the “Made in China” label; the Chinese have become experts on efficiently producing products and meeting deadlines. The same is applicable in the fashion industry when concerning apparel manufacturing. Once a destination for fast-fashion and value market production, higher costs of production are transforming China into a center for high-quality garment and textile production. Chinese clothing manufacturers have three things that make them stand out in comparison to the rest of the world: the ability to take on mass orders, quick lead and production times, and the ability to easily do business with brands in any part of the world.

Featured Clothing Manufacturer in China:

1. Can you tell us what your company is all about?

Country Bright was established in 1983 and continues to work with well-known apparel brands such as New Balance and Eddie Bauer. Our core value is to build strong business relationships through over-delivering on quality and we never promise our clients on projects or deadlines we cannot execute on. Our focus is always on the client, and we have designated teams of merchandisers for each client to ensure we deliver the best client experience.

2. Why is China a good place to manufacture apparel?

Apparel manufacturing in China is in a very mature state, making it more reliable than its counterparts in terms of craftsmanship quality, the diversity of fabrics available for sourcing, and logistics. As the majority of workers have been in the industry for over 20 years, the apparel manufacturing workforce is extremely skilled and continues to produce high-quality garments.

3. What advice would you give new designers and start-up brands?

The first step is to find a manufacturer with minimums that you can work with. You should then communicate your designs and your anticipated launch timeline so that the manufacturer can best understand your needs. Startup brands might not have detailed tech packs that they can show to the manufacturer, but it always helps if they can send over reference products, sketches, and present as much information as they can.
